We are offering an established Chocolate Business for sale, complete with manufacturing, and retail / wholesale sales. The business includes a 50-acre organic cacao farm; manufacturing facility in an artisanal chocolate shop in a popular tourist town; wholesale sales to grocers; and several additional retail locations selling directly to Belize’s many Cruise Ship tourists. This organic cacao is all grown locally ~ by ‘fair-trade’ farmers who have been growing fine cacao in this Southern Belize region for centuries. This business helps support many families here.

This artisanal chocolate maker knows its growers, and understands all the processing techniques needed to consistently yield the best fine chocolate. It is manufactured at its street-front Chocolate Shop, then sold under three established and popular brands, wholesale and retail, country-wide. They have experience in export sales, both in bulk processed beans, and in finished chocolate.

It is probable that the Mayan people who lived here in pre-columbian times actually introduced Christopher Columbus and Amerigo Vespucci to cacao ~ although it took the Europeans many years to add sugar and truly appreciate this world-changing crop. The weather and rainfall patterns here are perfect for fine cacao.

Looking west from the hilltop of the 50 acres.

The 50-ac of property is strategically located on a paved road with electricity (both are unusual in this part of the country). This road is actually a section of the PanAmerican Highway, near Belize’s southern-most border-crossing to Guatemala. An official border-crossing with customs offices is planned here in the near future. The land has a cleared area atop a panoramic hill, with 360° views of the coast and the Guatemalan hills. On this hilltop a shop, residence, meeting facility, and processing facility could be built.  This acreage is characterized by gentle hillsides where cacao and shade trees grow. A private drive leads to the hilltop, along the creek, and to various sections of the land.

Raw cacao beans, just picked from the tree.
Belize’s motto is, “Sub Umbra Floreo“, which means, “under the shade I flourish”. This is good for cacao, too.
