Aerial view from waterfront

This beautiful 450 acre property is located at Mile #19 of Belize’s newly-paved and realigned Coastal Highway.

The property extends from the highway to the Southern Lagoon waterfront. It has a mile of sand beach and mangrove frontage on Belize’s beautiful 9,000+ acre Southern Lagoon – which is an IUCN Category IV Wildlife Sanctuary. Across the lagoon, about 3/4 mile east is Gales Point peninsula and village. This waterfront offers perfect locations for a dock and ocean-access marina. The Caribbean Sea is only 2-1/2 miles by boat, across the lagoon and through the wild-and-scenic Manatee Bar River.

Looking toward the Coastal Road across the savanna

This property has several large, exotic karst hills with caves containing Maya artifacts, and open savanna. The surrounding high-canopy forest is home to all five of Belize’s “big cat’ species, as well flora and fauna in wild natural abundance. There are high-and-dry building sites with excellent views of the waterfront and the mountains.

Now that the Coastal Highway paving project is complete, this location is less than an hour’s drive from the international airport (“BZE”) ~ on a level, modern highway. You can fly out of L.A. or N.Y. in the morning, and be here by lunchtime, with your vehicle waiting at the airport. The Coastal Highway is Belize’s most modern highway, built to international specs. It is a major shortcut to the southern half of the country.

This mostly-undeveloped coastal region will soon be Belize’s hottest growth area. The sport fishing here ~ in the lagoon, the jungle creeks & rivers, and the nearby Caribbean flats, is truly world class. Belize’s MesoAmerican Barrier Reef begins 9 miles offshore, stretching 185 miles north/south, and extending up to 53 miles east. It is arguably the most verdant coral reef system on earth. The coral reef islands are a wonderland of sailing, fishing, snorkeling, and scuba diving.
